referred to for the past few years. Previous to the distinction, Virtual Assistants were referred to as terms such as Secretaries,

countries such as the United States, Australia and the UK have more Virtual Assistant practices than others such as Canada.
Although countries such as Canada have fewer VA's, the industry is quickly growing in this day in age and with the advancements
of technology.
Companies are catching on to the idea of hiring a VA rather than an in-office employee due to accessibility, affordability,
corporate downsizing and the fact that VA's continually save these companies money.
